4th Annual Backpack Day Set Largest Record For Event To Date

The Jones Center for Families hosted the 4th Annual Backpack Day on Thursday, August 16. 1000 backpacks were given away to area Kindergarten-Fourth grade students on a first come, first served basis. The backpacks were filled with the essential school supplies including pencils, crayons, paper, folders and more, with a value of $30 per backpack.

This event is possible through the support of corporate sponsors CCF Brands - RingO’s Chicken Rings, Wal-Mart & Sam’s Club, and Levi Strauss. "We are very excited to be able to partner with some amazing local companies to put this event together for the community," said Heather Tandy, Jones Center Family LIFE Coordinator.
